Description
The first thing you have to consider is density. Foam rollers come in different densities, which determines how they feel and who they are best suited for. Using a roller that is too soft does not provide enough pressure, while a foam roller that is too hard can lead to bruising and trauma, which can cause pain and adversely affect your performance.
The second one is the size and shape, which depends the way you use it. You can apply a longer one to roll out the whole back or large muscles, while a shorter one to target smaller areas like calves and arms. Most rollers are 5 or 6 inches in diameter, which is a comfortable height to allow your body to relax and then roll under control. Some people choose a 3 or 4 inch diameter roller for a deeper, more targeted massage. Besides, half round foam roller is an another choice  for leg or foot stretches.
